23 Sep 5th Annual Charity Golf Classic Raises $50,000 for Warrior Foundation – Freedom Station
Our 5th Annual Charity Golf Classic was a success! One-hundred percent of the proceeds from this event are donated directly to Warrior Foundation – Freedom Station. The organization uses these funds to provide quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing designed to assist injured warriors and their families during recovery.
The Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe played host to 32 foursomes for a total of 128 golfers playing the course. Several of our participating teams sponsored Warriors to join them, allowing participants to create a more personal connection to the organization. It was a great day of friendly competition with 1st place going to the Berg Insurance Agency foursome which included Michael Berg, Mike Patefield, Clay Hensley, and Jake Williams and 2nd place going to the TaylorMade foursome consisting of Rick Robertson, Nick Robbie, Tom Craig, and Kevin Correia.
While everyone had a great time at the event, one person in particular stood out. Rick Villalpando of Pacific Properties Service made the Hole-In-One contest hole, winning the $10,000 prize! In the five years we have hosted the tournament, we have not had a single winner until Mr. Villalpando took a swing at it. Even more impressive is that he has decided to donate part of his winnings to Warrior Foundation – Freedom Station.
Walters Management was able to raise over $50,000 for Warrior Foundation – Freedom Station with the help of our sponsors, industry partner participants, and raffle ticket purchases. The generosity didn’t end there, many of our guests donated their raffle prizes and auction items to the Warriors attending the tournament or their cash prizes to the Foundation.
We’d like to recognize the efforts of Executive Assistant, Sherrie McNaughton and President, Joe Farinelli for their dedication to bringing this event to life each year. Thank you to our major sponsors Pacific Green Landscape, Epsten, Grinnell & Howell, Pacific Properties Service, Park West Landscape, Pro-Tech Painting, and O’Connell Landscape for their continued support of the tournament. Walters Management is proud to be able to contribute to Warrior Foundation – Freedom Station and to have formed a lasting relationship with the staff and veterans of the organization.
