Recognizing the importance of volunteer service, WM Team Members are active in charitable organizations and endeavors. The dedication of personal time and effort is encouraged and supported by Walters Management values.
As a member of the Downtown Rotary Club #33 for the last thirty years, John Alioto participates in service efforts and events. Rotary International is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service and encourages high ethical standards in all vocations. John’s service efforts are mainly focused on Monarch School and Camp Enterprise. Monarch School is a unique partnership between the San Diego County Office of Education and the nonprofit Monarch School Project that provides education to K–12 homeless children living in San Diego. Camp Enterprise is a free 3-day workshop offered to high school students preparing for a future in business.
In 2011, Tara Graviss received the Volunteer of the Year award for her efforts with the Young Audiences of San Diego. Established in San Diego over 49 years ago, YASD dedicates itself to integrating the arts into the education and lives of all children throughout the region through an extraordinary range of high quality performances, residencies and workshops to help the San Diego youth identify with their cultural roots and discover their creative wings. Tara also serves on the Board of Trustees for YASD and as co-chair for the 2012 Summer Sol event.
Vietnam Veteran Jim Manning continues his service to our country and to our local military history through his involvement with the U.S.S. Midway Museum. On active duty for more than 7 years as a Marine, Jim now serves as an active docent on the Midway and conducts tours through the naval aviation museum. Jim continues his dedication to our armed services through his support of the USO and the Marine Memorial Association.
